O n the 6th Sep 2019, a visit was scheduled on the Anniversary of LMRC. 20 students of electrical third year batch went for the visit.  The need for tunnel ventilation is critical for the life and safety of any person utilizing the metro, rail or road tunnels throughout the world. Typically the equipment is used for smoke extraction or control for the time it takes people to evacuate the tunnel under emergency conditions. They are also utilized to control exhaust fumes and to provide standard ventilation when required. The basic control using portal to portal,  shaft to shaft,  portal to shaft introduced. The LMRC team explained the function  of equipment like a draft,  CMC,  planum, Rockwool for insulation,  air-cooled chiller, dampers, attenuator in detail.  

On  the  occasion  of  the  5th  of  September,  the  Electrical  Engineering  Society  celebrated  Teacher's    Day  in  gratitude  to  our  teachers. "गुरु ब्रम्हा गुरु विष्णू     गुरुः देवो महेश्वरा    गुरु शाक्षात परब्रम्हा       तस्मै श्री गुरुवे नमः"

A one-day industrial training was organised for the final year students by the department and society on 27 August 2019. The training was organised on the topic "Industrial Communication & Integrating Smart Switchgear" at the L&T Switchgear Training Centre in Lucknow. The students got to know about the basics of communication in respect of smart switchgear and also learned about wireless communication in the field. Students were enlightened by the knowledge of Modbus and it's variants of Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus and various wireless communication systems that are being used in industries nowadays. Also, they got to set up communication in switchgear practically in the hands-on workshop. The society thanks HOD Dr Satyendra Singh sir for making arrangements for the training of final year students at L&T.

On 9th August 2019, Electrical Engineering Society conducted a one-day industrial visit to Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation(LMRC) for the third-year students. Students went to Transport Nagar metro station where they visited Auxilary Substation, they also visited Transport Nagar Depot, where engineers work on pre-engineered of sheds and make them track ready. Electrical Engineering Society (EES) has successfully organised a seminar on Career Challenges and Opportunities in UPSC for Engineering Student, on 6 April. In the present scenario, the engineering students find themselves more vibrant than ever. An engineering student of today is highly likely to convert himself into an administrator or a  bureaucrat of tomorrow, so a span of opportunities are circling the engineers. Following the latest trend, we can easily infer, that UPSC produces its toppers and highest rankers from students of engineering cult more than students of art and humanities. EES organised a three-day training program for B.Tech 3rd-year students on 'Introduction to Industrial Electrical Systems' at Switchgear Training Center, Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), Lucknow. The training was conducted in two batches 25-27 February 2019 for the first batch and 28 February - 2 March 2019 for the second batch. The training program comprised of overview of Indian Power System, classroom sessions as well as hands-on experience in workshop giving exposure to a wide range of Low Voltage Switchgear like contractors, thermal overload relays, motor starters such as Star Delta starter, circuit breakers such as Air Circuit Breaker(ACB), Vaccum circuit breaker(VCB), MCB, MCCB, RCCB, isolator,MPCB HRC fuses, basic overview of soft  starter, drives etc. The most appealing thing of the training center was that the L&T Lucknow center became operational from 22nd February of 1993, on the same date (not the year) EES was restarted in 2018. EES organized two days visit to the 400KV UPPCL substation for second-year students on 25th and 26th February 2019, to learn about various components of the substation and their physical arrangement. Great Thanks to ER. Dinesh Kumar Tiwari sir, ER. Pankaj Tiwari sir and ER. Rajesh sir for mentoring the students. We would also like to show our gratitude towards Prof. Dr Bharti Dwivedi Ma'am and Dr Nitin Anand sir for being constant support. The visit turned out to be very fruitful as the students were able to link the theoretical knowledge with the practical. Also, the visit boosted the enthusiasm of the students towards the subject. EES ensures that more education and training visits will be done for department students.
