This workshop was conducted by EES and IEEE PES SBC62961, and was presented by CoreEL Technologies, Bangalore. The workshop attracted a diverse group of engineers and enthusiasts eager to delve into the latest advancements in embedded system technology. Attendees had the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics, from the basics of embedded systems to hardware and software design considerations, real-time operating systems, and various applications. Through a mix of interactive learning sessions, insightful discussions, and live demonstrations, participants gained practical experience and knowledge in embedded system design. One of the workshop's key highlights was the opportunity for attendees to learn directly from industry experts. These experts shared valuable insights and expertise, providing attendees with a deeper unders...

Workshop on Machine Learning

One of the cornerstones of Industry 4.0, often known as the Fourth Industrial Revolution, is machine learning (ML). The foundation of machine learning (ML), an application of artificial intelligence, is the notion that when given fresh data, computers may learn, develop, and evolve independently without direct human guidance or programming.  Nearly every industry is now aware of the significance of AI and machine learning. Therein arises the need for students to be AI-ML proficient. The Electrical Engineering Society organized a hands-on workshop on Machine Learning on 17 December 2022 in the Seminar Hall of the department. The workshop was arranged to create awareness among students about a future in machine learning and to get students prepared for a bright career in machine learning. We had Dr Manoj Semwal as our guest speaker. Dr Semwal holds the title of senior principal scientist at the Central Institute of Medicine and Aromatic Plants. Sir has a PhD in machine learning and d...

Training at L&T for final year students

A one-day industrial training was organised for the final year students by the department and society on 27 August 2019. The training was organised on the topic "Industrial Communication & Integrating Smart Switchgear" at the L&T Switchgear Training Centre in Lucknow. The students got to know about the basics of communication in respect of smart switchgear and also learned about wireless communication in the field. Students were enlightened by the knowledge of Modbus and it's variants of Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus and various wireless communication systems that are being used in industries nowadays. Also, they got to set up communication in switchgear practically in the hands-on workshop. The society thanks HOD Dr Satyendra Singh sir for making arrangements for the training of final year students at L&T.

Training at L&T for 3rd year students

EES organised a three-day training program for B.Tech 3rd-year students on 'Introduction to Industrial Electrical Systems' at Switchgear Training Center, Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), Lucknow. The training was conducted in two batches 25-27 February 2019 for the first batch and 28 February - 2 March 2019 for the second batch. The training program comprised of overview of Indian Power System, classroom sessions as well as hands-on experience in workshop giving exposure to a wide range of Low Voltage Switchgear like contractors, thermal overload relays, motor starters such as Star Delta starter, circuit breakers such as Air Circuit Breaker(ACB), Vaccum circuit breaker(VCB), MCB, MCCB, RCCB, isolator,MPCB HRC fuses, basic overview of soft  starter, drives etc. The most appealing thing of the training center was that the L&T Lucknow center became operational from 22nd February of 1993, on the same date (not the year) EES was restarted in 2018. The stude...

Workshop on PLC-SCADA
