“Electrical science has revealed to us the true nature of light, has provided us with innumerable appliances and instruments of precision, and has thereby vastly added to the exactness of our knowledge”
To enhance the knowledge and acquaintance to the motor technology of B. Tech 3rd, 4th year and M. Tech 1st and 2nd-year students, Electrical Engineering Department, IET Lucknow (EES) organized an expert lecture on “Advanced Electric Machines” by the hon’ble expert speaker “Prof. Ajay Srivastava” who is an expert speaker from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India.During lecture students were informed about reluctance type motor, is a type of an electric motor that induces non-permanent magnetic poles on the ferromagnetic rotor generating torque through magnetic reluctance having no windings. Advanced Electric Machines(AEM), a spin-out from Newcastle University, has developed the HDSRM (high- density switched reluctance machine), which it claims is the most …

L&T Training For 3rd Year Students

A three days industrial training was organized for the third year students by the department and society from 7th to 9th September 2019. The training was organized on the topic "Integrating Smart Switchgear" at the L&T Switchgear Training Centre in Lucknow. The students got to know about the Switchgear which is a combination of electrical connect and disconnect switches. It includes fuses or circuit breakers that are used to control, protect and isolate electrical equipment. The switchboards play a big role in the distribution of power and management of distribution systems. One of the basic functions of switchgear is protection. It interrupts the short-circuiting and overload fault currents while maintaining service to unaffected circuits. The society thanks HOD Dr. Satyendra Singh sir for making arrangements for the training of third-year students at L&T. Great thanks to Mrs. Sabiha Ahmed(L&T staff) and her training staff.
