Expert Lecture on WAMS and it's Application to GRID

Expert Lecture  Sponsored by TEQIP -III and organised by Electrical Engineering Society on 17th NOV 2020 on the topic: WAMS and its Application to GRID.   The session was taken by Dr. Mahendra Bhadu (Phd IIT Delhi, Gold Medalist- MNIT Jaipur ) Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, [GOVT. ENGINEERING COLLEGE BIKANER]

With the tantalizing season of meteorological autumn,  along with the razzle-dazzle within, On the fiesta of teachers day, celebrated each year on 5 th September, we the electrical engineering society integrated our student folks to join us for the grand online merriment. We plumped our energies high up, revitalized ourself and pulled up our socks to surprise our teachers who play a massive role in our life each day, be it a pandemic situation or a normal happy go one. We commenced our programme with the recitation of Saraswati Mantra followed by the inaugural speech where we welcomed our honorable faculty members. As we unraveled our shades of intra mural gusto we presented a virtual bouquet and some artworks done by our classmates along with a mesmerizing wheelwork depicting their preciousness in our lives. As slowly we handed over our baton to our respected faculty, they filled us with some golden nuggets of information which was followed by a token of thanks from our Vice Preside

With the end of a dusking sun, there begins a new dawn, a fresh one either with perfect pomp and enthusiastic aura of a new rising sun. Lighting away the whole path with radiance, on 4rth September, our new team of EES paved their steps to hold high the torch of the legacy of their ideals. Completion of a successful year back, with exciting practical experiences in our career bags, electrical engineering society  unfolds a heart warming welcome to our new fraternized team, that has been declared by our honourable faculty advisor, Dr Nitin Anand Srivastava Sir. As we greet our new bunch of EES, with ignited visions ahead, EES aims in following their footsteps and amplify it's spread and amalgamate it's intensity to every nook and corner.

“Farewell, wherever you fare till your eyries receive you at the journey's end. May the wind under your wings bear you where the sun sails and the moon walks," Hard as it is to admit, it was now time to bid adieu to yet another batch. To acknowledge the bittersweet highlights of a journey that has now come to an end and to wish luck for future endeavours, a proper goodbye had to be said. In the light of the current situation and with a heavy heart, the Electrical Engineering society organised an online farewell to the 2020 batch of the Electrical Engineering department on 21st, August.  Reminiscing the journey, the event was filled with many trips down the memory lane. Hoping to meet again on another shore, it concluded with a vote of thanks from the former President, Shrey Dubey that left everyone nostalgic.  LINK:

Expert Lecture By Dr. Gayathri Nair

Hope you all are staying home and staying safe!!  In order to overcome technical constraints and exploring the Integration of higher shares of variable renewable into the grid " the grids of small island developing state" , EES has come up with an exigent webinar session on " GRID STABILITY ASSESSMENT WITH HIGH SHARE OF RENEWABLE" on 4th june at 4 pm. Our expert speaker is "Dr. Gayathri Nair" who comes from the International Renewable Energy Agency, Bonn area, Germany. The students should attend this webinar to have the best practices to mitigate technical challenges. “The beautiful thing about learning is that nobody can take it away from you.”

Alumni Meet

Convergence'19, a swash strapping get-together of long time colleagues and a mercurial upturn of memories, held on 23rd November. The alumni batch of 1994 gathered after 25 years of their graduation, in order to mark their presence on convergence'19 and for novelizing their memories. On such a congenial occasion Electrical Engineering Society (EES) gave an acclamation to the alumnis of electrical engineering department and embellished an alumni meet at Tesla hall. The reputed  alumni had a very prestigious interaction with Prof. Bharti Dwivedi Ma'am and other faculty members. A brief discussion on recent activities and future plans of society held , followed by the launch of “Alumni’s discussion forum “ of society on EES blogspot. Afterwards an special vote of thanks was given to the prestigious alumni. EES thanks to the alumni and hope best for their exaltation.

“Electrical science has revealed to us the true nature of light, has provided us with innumerable appliances and instruments of precision, and has thereby vastly added to the exactness of our knowledge”   To enhance the knowledge and acquaintance to the motor technology of B. Tech 3 rd , 4 th year and M. Tech 1 st and 2nd-year students ,   Electrical Engineering Department, IET Lucknow ( EES) organized an expert lecture on “ Advanced Electric Machines ” by the hon’ble expert speaker “Prof. Ajay Srivastava ” who is an expert speaker from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. During lecture students were informed about reluctance type motor, is a type of an electric motor that induces non-permanent magnetic poles on the ferromagnetic rotor generating torque through magnetic reluctance having no windings.  Advanced Electric Machines(AEM) , a spin-out from Newcastle University , has developed the HDSRM (high- density switched reluctance machine),

L&T Training For 3rd Year Students

A three days industrial training was organized for the third year students by the department and society from 7 th to 9 th September 2019. The training was organized on the topic "Integrating Smart Switchgear" at the L&T Switchgear Training Centre in Lucknow.  The students got to know about the  Switchgear which is a combination of electrical connect and disconnect switches. It includes fuses or circuit breakers that are used to control, protect and isolate electrical equipment. The switchboards play a big role in the distribution of power and management of distribution systems.  One of the basic functions of switchgear is protection. It interrupts the short-circuiting and overload fault currents while maintaining service to unaffected circuits.  The society thanks HOD Dr. Satyendra Singh sir for making arrangements for the training of third-year students at L&T.  Great thanks to Mrs. Sabiha Ahmed(L&T staff) and her training staff.
