Bridging Theory and Practice: Exploring Electrical Engineering at Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC)

The recent visit orchestrated by the Electrical Engineering Society to the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) was a transformative experience for third-year Electrical Engineering students. Taking place on December 8, 2023, this visit bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application within a massive infrastructure project. Situated in Lucknow, India, the LMRC stands as a beacon of progress in the city's public transportation infrastructure. Its state-of-the-art electrical engineering systems have revolutionized commuting, showcasing exemplary energy management and system integration.

Students were immersed in a world of cutting-edge technologies, witnessing firsthand the implementation of electrical systems for power transmission, control, and automation. This exposure extended beyond the classroom, offering a deeper understanding of coursework and instilling a sense of enthusiasm for the transformative potential of electrical engineering in transportation. The trip was an eye-opener, emphasizing the crucial role engineers play in shaping the future of transportation and leaving the participants with a newfound passion and appreciation for their field of study.

This initiative by the Electrical Engineering Society proved commendable, leaving an indelible impact on the participating students. Their exposure to practical applications and guidance from experts like Dr. Anurag Verma and Mr. Adeeb Uddin ensured that the visit was both memorable and enlightening. Such initiatives stand as vital pillars in preparing future engineers, arming them with the practical knowledge and inspiration needed to tackle the challenges of tomorrow's electrical engineering landscape.

Visit to State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC)

A one day technical visit to State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) of Uttar Pradesh was organized for Electrical engineering students by Electrical department and EES on 9th October, 2021. SLDC is the prime body which is responsible for the integrated operation of power system in Uttar Pradesh. SLDC ensures the secure and economic working of the state grid and also carry out practical operations for grid control and electricity dispatch in the state. The SLDC works under RLDC which further works under NLDC. We would really thank our honorable HOD Dr. Seethalekshmi K Ma'am as well as the staff for organizing the visit.
