Cybersecurity: Trends, Innovation, Skills & Career Opportunities | Expert Session | Electrical Engineering Society

The Electrical Engineering Society, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and Navayug Navachar Foundation (NNF), proudly presented an Expert Session on “Cybersecurity: Trends, Innovation, Skills & Career Opportunities”, an enlightening platform created to bring industry knowledge, emerging technologies, and career guidance directly to students.

The session featured Mr. Supratik Pathak, Senior Product Manager at GE Vernova, Dubai, who shared his experience and perspective on one of the most critical and fast-growing domains of the modern technological world.

About the Event

The Expert Session was designed to help students understand the growing importance of cybersecurity in a world that depends increasingly on connected systems, digital infrastructure, and intelligent technologies. It offered participants a clear picture of how the field is evolving and why it matters for every engineer, whatever their branch.

Mr. Pathak spoke about current industry trends, the innovations shaping cybersecurity, and the skills that are most in demand today. With a special focus on OT (Operational Technology) Cyber Security, the session highlighted the importance of protecting industrial systems and critical infrastructure, and how electrical engineering students can build a meaningful career in this space.

The session went beyond the simple delivery of information. It connected classroom learning with real industry practice, helping students see where their technical knowledge can lead and how to prepare for the opportunities ahead. The interactive discussion encouraged curiosity, awareness, and a forward-looking mindset among the participants.

The Electrical Engineering Society extends its sincere gratitude to Prof. Seethalekshmi K. (President, IIC), Dr. Pushkar Tripathi (Convenor, IIC), and Dr. Nitin Anand Shrivastava (Faculty Advisor, EES) for their constant guidance and support, and thanks all the participants for making the session a success.

The Expert Session was not simply a lecture; it was an opportunity to turn awareness into direction. Through such initiatives, EES aims to create a platform where young minds can learn from industry experts, think ahead, and prepare confidently for the future.

EXPERT LECTURE ON “ADVANCED ELECTRIC MACHINES”

“Electrical science has revealed to us the true nature of light, has provided us with innumerable appliances and instruments of precision, and has thereby vastly added to the exactness of our knowledge”   To enhance the knowledge and acquaintance to the motor technology of B. Tech 3 rd , 4 th year and M. Tech 1 st and 2nd-year students ,   Electrical Engineering Department, IET Lucknow ( EES) organized an expert lecture on “ Advanced Electric Machines ” by the hon’ble expert speaker “Prof. Ajay Srivastava ” who is an expert speaker from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. During lecture students were informed about reluctance type motor, is a type of an electric motor that induces non-permanent magnetic poles on the ferromagnetic rotor generating torque through magnetic reluctance having no windings.  Advanced Electric Machines(AEM) , a spin-out from Newcastle University , has developed the HDSRM (high- density switched r...
