Orientation Programme for First-Year Students | Electrical Engineering Society|19th September, 2026

The Electrical Engineering Society (EES) of the Electrical Engineering Department successfully organized an orientation programme for the first-year students .The programme provided a warm welcome to the newly admitted students and introduced them to the academic, technical, and co-curricular opportunities available throughout their engineering journey.
The orientation offered students valuable insights into the department’s vision, values, and learning environment. It also familiarized them with the objectives of EES and its role in bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical application through technical events, workshops, competitions, industrial visits, and various departmental initiatives.

About the Programme

The orientation programme was organized to help first-year students understand the importance of active participation in departmental and society activities. During the session, the EES team highlighted how teamwork, innovation, leadership, and continuous learning contribute to a successful engineering career.

Senior members of the society shared their experiences and guided the juniors on making the most of the opportunities provided by EES and the Electrical Engineering Department. Their valuable insights encouraged the students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and take an active role in upcoming technical and co-curricular activities.
The interaction between the senior and junior students created a welcoming and inspiring atmosphere. It motivated the newcomers to become an integral part of the EES community and contribute to the society with fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and creativity.
The programme concluded with an engaging interaction session, during which the first-year students shared their queries, expectations, and aspirations. Their enthusiastic participation reflected their curiosity and eagerness to begin their academic journey in the field of electrical engineering.
The Electrical Engineering Society extends a warm welcome to the newest members of the Electrical Engineering Department. The successful orientation programme marked the beginning of a promising journey and reinforced EES’s commitment to nurturing creativity, confidence, technical excellence, teamwork, and leadership among budding electrical engineers.
