Just A Minute (JAM) – A Test of Wit and Spontaneity at Vis-à-Vis 2024

The Just A Minute (JAM) round of Vis-à-Vis 2025, organized by the Electrical Engineering Society (EES) of IET Lucknow, was successfully conducted on 1st February 2025. The event brought together a vibrant group of first-year students eager to showcase their spontaneity, fluency, and quick thinking.

JAM has always been one of the most awaited segments of Vis-à-Vis a platform that tests not just speaking ability but also presence of mind and creativity. Participants were challenged to speak confidently for sixty seconds on fun yet thought-provoking topics without hesitation, repetition, or deviation. Their energetic performances filled the atmosphere with laughter, excitement, and admiration.

The event was honored by the presence of our faculty members from the Electrical Engineering Department, whose encouragement and appreciation greatly boosted the participants’ morale. They praised the freshers for their confidence, clarity, and spontaneity, noting how events like JAM help students overcome stage fear and develop essential communication skills.

The Just A Minute round concluded on a lively and positive note, leaving both faculty and audience impressed by the creativity and enthusiasm of the participants. It was yet another successful milestone in the Vis-à-Vis 2024 journey, celebrating expression and originality in its purest form.

Inaguration of Tesla Hall: EES Library & Meeting Room

On 24th November 2018, the meeting room and library of EES, the Tesla Hall, was inaugurated by the hands of Alumni of the 1993 batch of the department in presence of Prof. Bharti Dwivedi ma'am. The inauguration was scheduled on the occasion of Convergence'18, the Silver Jubilee program of 1989-93 batch of the institute. The work of the library was started after it was announced in the Teacher's Day program. By the hard work of the Library Committee and other active members of EES from 2nd and 3rd year, the library has again come to a state to operate for the welfare of the students of the society. Special thanks to HOD sir, Prof. Kuldeep Sahay for providing curtains and a  roundtable along with cousin chairs for the hall. Vis-a-Vis: A Debate That Sparked Minds and Voices

The Electrical Engineering Society successfully conducted a debate of   Vis-a-Vis , that stood as a celebration of ideas, intellect, and informed expression. In an age dominated by quick opinions and shorter attention spans, Vis-a-Vis reminded everyone of the power of structured thinking, respectful disagreement, and meaningful dialogue . Participants were challenged not just to speak, but to listen, analyze, and respond thoughtfully . The debate topics reflected a blend of modern issues, technological ethics, and future-oriented themes making the discussions both relevant and stimulating. The Presentation Round of Vis-à-Vis 2024 , organized by the Electrical Engineering Society (EES) of IET Lucknow , was held on 9th April 2025 , marking the grand and insightful conclusion to this year’s literary series. This round provided first-year students with an opportunity to express their creativity, innovation, and communication skills through impactful presentations on a wide range of topics. From social awareness and technology-driven ideas to imaginative solutions and personal insights, each presentation reflected originality, research, and confidence.
