Vis-a-Vis: A Debate That Sparked Minds and Voices

The Electrical Engineering Society successfully conducted a debate of  Vis-a-Vis, that stood as a celebration of ideas, intellect, and informed expression. In an age dominated by quick opinions and shorter attention spans, Vis-a-Vis reminded everyone of the power of structured thinking, respectful disagreement, and meaningful dialogue.

Participants were challenged not just to speak, but to listen, analyze, and respond thoughtfully. The debate topics reflected a blend of modern issues, technological ethics, and future-oriented themes making the discussions both relevant and stimulating.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across freshers, each bringing unique viewpoints and arguments to the table. From confident first-time speakers to seasoned debaters, the diversity of voices added depth and balance to every round.

The judging panel evaluated participants on clarity of thought, content strength, rebuttal skills, confidence, and overall presentation. Their insightful feedback helped participants recognize their strengths and areas for growth.

Debate was more than just a competition, it was a learning experience. It sharpened communication skills, boosted confidence, and encouraged students to think critically under pressure. Most importantly, it fostered a culture where differing opinions were not only accepted but valued.

The success of the event reflects the Electrical Engineering Society’s commitment to holistic development proving that an engineer’s strength lies not only in technical expertise but also in the ability to articulate ideas and question the world around them.

With Debate Event, Vis-a-Vis, once again demonstrated its dedication to creating platforms that inspire growth beyond academics. The event concluded on a high note, leaving participants motivated, audiences enlightened, and organizers proud of a debate well fought and well heard.

EXPERT LECTURE ON “ADVANCED ELECTRIC MACHINES”

“Electrical science has revealed to us the true nature of light, has provided us with innumerable appliances and instruments of precision, and has thereby vastly added to the exactness of our knowledge”   To enhance the knowledge and acquaintance to the motor technology of B. Tech 3 rd , 4 th year and M. Tech 1 st and 2nd-year students ,   Electrical Engineering Department, IET Lucknow ( EES) organized an expert lecture on “ Advanced Electric Machines ” by the hon’ble expert speaker “Prof. Ajay Srivastava ” who is an expert speaker from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, India. During lecture students were informed about reluctance type motor, is a type of an electric motor that induces non-permanent magnetic poles on the ferromagnetic rotor generating torque through magnetic reluctance having no windings.  Advanced Electric Machines(AEM) , a spin-out from Newcastle University , has developed the HDSRM (high- density switched r...
